Akihabara is a famous as area of transmission of "Otaku" culture, and Nipponbashi is a most biggest dense areas of "Otaku" culture in West Japan. Although slightly smaller than Akahabara, both sides of the street are lined with stores selling "Otaku" goods, and the acts of touting by maid cafe are eagerly actting.

Because a state-of-the-art Otaku's Anime, Manga, Figure, and Doujinshi is trafficked in the area, Many "Otaku" living in the West Japan countryside come to Nipponbashi. Therefore, holiday of Nipponbashi is very congestion. Recently, foreign tourists come to Nipponbashi. (It's easy to add Nipponbashi to the tourist route, since Nipponbashi is located near Dotonbori, Tsutenkaku, and Nanba.)

Formerly, Nipponbashi was a dense areas of electronics retailers. So, numerous electronics retailer stores are exist in this area. Although it's called "electronics retailers", the genres that individual stores are specialized in are different (For example, stores that is spexialized in Audio equipment). Window shopping of such a variety stores are also one of enjoyment in Nipponbashi.
